Fatima de Madrid (? 10th - 11th century)
Fatima was the daughter of the astronomer and scientist Maslama al-Mayriti (whose name means Man from Madrid). She wrote several works which are known as 'Corrections from Fatima' and she worked with her father on astronomical and mathematical investigations. They edited and corrected 'The Astronomical Tables of al-Khwarizmi', adjusting them to the meridian passing through Cordoba. They also worked on zijes; these are Arabic tables which include calendars, positions of the Sun, Moon and planets, trigonometric and spherical astronomy functions, eclipses and Moon visibilty, and other information.
